|Beyond Energy Code Consulting will be offering a 3 Step approach to achieving Net Zero Energy.
1. Practical Code Compliance
Step 1 will assess whether your new builds actually achieve their predicted performance. This will include: Site survey, metering, and interviews to establish baseline and identify issues; and Work with suppliers to revise design, construction, commissioning, and O&M specs and practices. The outcome will be an improved new build specification that achieves design performance.
2. Steps beyond Code
Step 2 will gradually improve your new building specifications beyond the Building Code. This will entail: Identify options for gradually improving new building performance; Assess impact of each measure; Work with client and suppliers to address challenges; Build business case; Develop phased implementation plan; and Monitor results. The outcome will be a cost optimized low energy new build specifications, strategy, and support tools.
3. Net Zero Energy
Step 3 will develop an organizational strategy for NZE Buildings. The process here will: Review outcomes of step 2 projects; Identify solutions for achieving NZE Buildings; Incorporate learning from step 2; Work with client and suppliers to assess feasibility of proposed solutions; Build business case; and Implement measures and monitor results.
