In this respect, in October 2012, Governor Pat Quinn announced a $1 billion dollar ”Clean Water Initiative” to help local governments overhaul aging drinking water and wastewater treatment plants and pipelines across Illinois. Moreover, Illinois is a leader in waterworks technologies and was the first US State to establish an Environmental Protection Act.|
