Executive Director, Cascadia Green Building Council
& Vice President, International Living Futures Institute
As the Executive Director of Cascadia Green Building Council, Mona is responsible for the successful leadership and operation of the bioregional non-profit that is a program and partner of the International Living Future Institute and a proud chapter of the Canada and United States Green Building Councils. As Vice-President, Education and Events, Mona oversees the Institute’s education and events needs, working to inspire educators, engage individuals, professionals and organizations via educational offerings and the organization’s annual signature event Living Future unConference.
Prior to this, Mona served as the British Columbia Director for Cascadia from 2007 to 2010 and Education and Events Director for the Institute from 2010 to 2012. Before joining Cascadia and the Institute Mona worked eight years in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada for various architecture firms where gained valuable knowledge and experience as a practitioner that now serve to support her current role and responsibilities. Mona was also a founding Director of the Manitoba Chapter, Canada Green Building Council and former Vice-Chair of the Chapter. Mona holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from the University of Manitoba. She is fluent in French, English and Spanish – with elementary (deteriorating!) abilities in Japanese.
