Ron Pernick is an accomplished author, publisher, and entrepreneur with nearly three decades of high-tech experience. He is the co-author of two books on clean-tech business and innovation, Clean Tech Nation (HarperCollins, 2012) and The Clean Tech Revolution (HarperCollins, 2007). At Clean Edge, he has co-authored more than three dozen reports on clean technologies, markets, and policies. He oversees the firm’s indexing and benchmarking services, including the tracking of states, metro regions, utilities, and consumers, as well as two stock indexes co-developed and managed with NASDAQ. Pernick consults regularly with companies, government agencies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
Prior to founding Clean Edge, he helped build the brands of such Internet pioneers as Internet In A Box, Preview Travel, The WELL, and Yahoo, and earlier lived and worked in Japan with a focus on the telecommunications and consumer electronics sectors. He has taught MBA-level courses at Portland State University and New College, is widely quoted in the media, and is a regular speaker at industry events in the U.S. and abroad. He lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and six-year-old twins.
